My Virtual Office Hours are Mondays 1:00 - 2:00pm

*I am available to answer emails and/or Class Dojo messages immediately during this time.  However, I will check both each day, throughout the day, as well.  This office hour is subject to change.  Parents will be notified if the day and time changes.

Please check the “Daily Assignments” link located on the left of this page. You will find daily assignments for your child to complete each day.

Dear Families,

In an effort to continue supporting your child's education at home, we have a few resources to share with you.

On each teacher's class web page, as well as the second grade web page, you will find a list of second grade curriculum, broken down by subject.  Virginia standards are listed in parenthesis if you would like to locate additional information on each.  Anything that is highlighted has NOT been covered in our classroom yet.  This can be used as a guideline when using electronic resources.  Pacing guides for all curriculum are also available on Old Bridge's website under the tab "Our School," near the top.  You can access all of this on Old Bridge's website by visiting:

OBES Home Page

In addition to this, you will find the following:

  • “Math 1,” Math 2” and “Reading” – PDF files of a packet sent home with students present on Friday, March 13th

  • At Home Learning packet with daily activities

  • At Home Learning packet for first grade curriculum to be used as remediation

  • March Learning Packet

  •  These PDF files do require printing.  They ARE NOT required and should not be turned in.  These files are for you to use are your discretion.

Clever is a great way to access many of the electronic resources we use daily.  If you are trying to access Clever, please see the directions uploaded on second grade’s webpage.  You can access this by going to the Old Bridge website (link is above).

The username for Clever is the same one your child uses to log in on the computers on a daily basis.  The password is the same, as well. It is imperative that “” is added after your child’s username when logging in. If you are having difficulty accessing Clever, please email or message your child’s teacher.

Scholastic News also has great resources, including previously used articles dating back to 2018.  Each article allows your child to access vocabulary, a video, a game, and on/above grade level version of each article.  The article can also be read aloud to your child.  The link for this is below. Please contact your child’s teacher for the password.

Scholastic News

Raz Kids has been updated to reflect your child's most current DRA level.  We use RAZ Kids daily.  Each day at school, we ask each student to complete a quiz after reading one book.  Each student should score 8/10 correct, or 4/5, depending on the book and/or level each student is working on.  If the student scores below this, he/she is asked to go back, reread and try the quiz again.  This could be something to continue implementing at home.   Raz Kids is available through Clever.

Prince William County Schools provided a home learning site.  Please use this at your discretion to guide home learning.  It will continue to be updated with resources for you to use at your discretion.

Mrs. Helman, our instructional technology coach at Old Bridge, also put together a home learning page, as well.  Again, it will be updated with resources throughout the closure and should be used at your discretion.  The link is below and will be uploaded on each teacher’s webpage under “useful links.”

We heard that ABCMouse, Reading IQ, and Adventure Academy (this one is grades 3 – 8) are offering free access to their resources using the code SCHOOL7771.  We cannot confirm this, but it’s worth a try!  Again, this is not required.

For Social Studies and Science, your child can read books about previously learned material on Epic or Raz Kids by searching for the particular topic desired.  Pebblego and BrainPopJr. should be available, as well.  Both are available through Clever.  If your child would like, he or she can also read about upcoming material.  We recommend Famous Americans and/or Economics, as there are many electronic resources available for both.  Please see the curriculum document on second grade’s class webpage regarding additional information for social studies and science curriculum.

As a reminder, all of the resources mentioned above, or uploaded, are optional.

We hope all are staying safe and healthy during this difficult time!  We are here to answer any questions or concerns you may have.
